We were founded in 1999, originally named the Edelweiss Preservation Foundation, as a nonprofit 501(c)3, all-volunteer organization.

In 2015 our members voted to change our name in order to more accurately describe our cultural activities and members’ interests, which relate to all regions of Germany as well as to Switzerland, Austria, and other countries’ German populations.
